In what could be the largest parade since Miss America strolled the wooden way, Atlantic City is celebrating America’s Armed Forces on Monday, August 15, in conjunction with the Atlantic City Airshow “Thunder over the Boardwalk. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. at New Jersey Avenue and the Boardwalk and proceed to Albany Avenue lasting approximately one and a half hours.

The inaugural Boardwalk parade will be comprised of military bands playing patriotic music including the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Band, representatives from each branch of the military, veteran and civic organizations, representatives of the police and fire departments, all aspects of public safety, and multiple parade floats carrying live entertainment.

Additional entertainment will include a classic Jersey Shore Rock & Roll ensemble and a New Orleans Brass Band, which will dance down the world-famous Boardwalk Mardi Gras-style.

The addition of the Atlantic City Salutes America’s Armed Forces Boardwalk Parade on Monday, August 15, will create three days of entertainment in Atlantic City, including the Atlantic City Airshow “Thunder over the Boardwalk” on Wednesday, August 17 and the airshow practice day on Tuesday, August 16.

Veteran or civic organizations interested in participating in the Boardwalk parade should contact Charles Coyle at 609-641-5631 or 609-442-7547 or via e-mail at coytray@comcast.net for an application. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 5.
