The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA) is happy to announce that the Annual Conference of the International Code Council (ICC) will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center for September 25 through October 6, 2013. ICC is an association that develops the codes and standards used to construct residential and commercial buildings. It meets annually, and the location rotates each year.
The meeting is expected to bring 1,500 attendees, who will use approximately 6,350 room nights and generate more than $3.6 million in delegate spending. It will utilize 200,000 square feet of exhibit space in the Convention Center.
ICC Chief Executive Officer Richard P. Weiland said “The large participation from one of our biggest chapters and proximity to significant population centers in the Northeast should assure a great turnout. We are also impressed with the Convention Center site’s strong commitment to energy conservation and green practices, and the revitalized Promenade connecting the conference location to the famous boardwalk.”
Jeff Vasser, president of the ACCVA, said, “We’re very pleased to add the ICC to our roster of new upcoming conventions. Our sales staff has done a great job in attracting new business to the city, and we’re looking forward to hosting many new convention delegates in the coming years.”
Other conventions coming to the Atlantic City Convention Center include H.H. Backer Pet Industry Trade Show (returning after a three-year absence), 2011 North Atlantic Regional Conference/Cluster IV of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., 2011 Eastern Area Conference (Links), 5LINX National Event (telecommunications network marketing company), FastLaneBiker’s Bike Week, New Jersey Apartment Association, 2011 Eastern Regional Conference of Delta Sigma Delta Sorority, Inc., USTD Dance Seminars (United Stated Tournament of Dance), 2011 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Regional Conference and Expo, NJ Pediatric Council on Research & Education, and Cape Atlantic Pearl of Recovery 2011 Convention.
Collectively, these trade shows, conventions and public shows will bring an estimated 64,000 attendees, who will use about 15,000 hotel room nights and bring approximately $21 million in delegate spending to the Atlantic City area.
